Provocative Accountability: Art’s job is to ask tough questions, to uncover the logical and emotional roadblocks to success, and to provoke his clients to push themselves out of their comfort zone. He takes this aspect of coaching seriously.
Passion: Art loves what he does and believes his sole purpose is to change the lives of his clients for the better. It’s what gets him fired up every day.
The Power of Hope: Business can beat you down, making each day a test of survival. Art’s skilled at renewing the enthusiasm and focus business owners need to thrive in the face of adversity.
Because every client is different and facing unique challenges in their particular industry, Art customizes his coaching to deliver early returns for his clients. Ultimately Art helps his clients get more done in less time, with higher satisfaction and confidence.
Art’s ability to effectively engage his clients and produce outstanding results for them led to his being named “Coach of the Year” in 2019 by the Focalpoint Coaching franchise.
Most of Art’s clients prefer bi-monthly coaching – two working sessions a month of 90 minutes each. But Art will design a program that meets your needs for urgency and scope.
Office Manager Training & Certification
Art received his MBA from Cornell in Operations & Finance and in the 30 years after spent the bulk of his time in operations management in the service sector. Art loves bringing people, processes and technology together to create outstanding customer experiences. Art knows that operations is “the glue that holds companies together” and the role of Operations Manager is a key one in any business.
But if you’re an Operations Manager or Office Manager (e.g., an OM) in a small business, where do you go to get training? How do you up-level your skills to become more effective in your current role and position yourself for additional leadership responsibility? The reality is that in the US there are very few avenues for OM’s to get training in the specific skills and knowledge needed to become expert in the role.
Hence the Office Manager Certification class was born. 12 hours of virtual, high-quality learning and interaction, organized into 4 main topical areas:
- The Office Manager: The Role, its Mission and Role Clarity in your business
- Managing the Team: How to hire, motivate, delegate to and lead others
- Managing the Work: How to organize and monitor the work via processes, standards and metrics
- Managing the Customer: How to oversee sales, scheduling and customer service
This course is run once a year for the general public, but can be delivered to a team on a custom basis.
Assessments & Debriefs
Some of the most impactful tools in Art’s inventory are assessments, such as DISC, EQ, Motivators, and Kolbe. Art is a certified Kolbe Consultant, as well as skilled in the use of DISC with individuals and teams.
Art believes that self-mastery is the key to long-term success, and assessments like those mentioned above are instrumental in helping his clients understand the pros and cons of their go-to behaviors and habits. After all, the results of assessments like these are the client’s truth, in their own words, free from bias.
For individuals, Art typically sells assessments with a 60-90 minute debrief. Clients get so much more out of these debriefs than simply reading the long, detailed assessment report, because these debriefs focus on how you can apply these new insights into the relationships that govern daily life and work.
The combination of affective assessments (DISC, EQ) and conative assessments (Kolbe) allow us to understand how we function best and to embrace the power of being the person we are meant to be. And once we understand that, we embrace learning how to make the best use of the innate talents of the people we’re working with, to ensure that we have “the right people on the bus, in the right seats.”
